The Grand Bazaar !

More market shopping for me ! Some snippets from today ...
I realised how empty it looks above but I can assure you it was triple the amount of this !
Adorable

Overall, I had a great time and believe it or not, i got home before 2 which is completely unbelievable under my circumstances. Shopping with your parents isn't so bad at all, in fact, it's not that bad at all. Well if you minus the fact that you can't buy 60 % of the things you want, you're pretty much getting a free miniature escape from school AND an enjoying experience.

Oh, i almost forgot, I also scored heaps of bargains whilst there. In fact I scored quite a lot. I purchased some 90 % wool yarn of a blueish-navy to knit over the holidays. It's not the acrylic yarn that you can buy at golo for two or so bucks, it's wool. And to top it off, it was a dollar fifty for one bundle and it's made for and from Great Britain. You heard me. Possibly globalisation or the traditional breakdown of nation-state barriers( sorry, just did my geography homework a few minutes ago ! ) isn't exactly cutting through. Anyway, big scoree !!

I also found this photo frame with lets me put three photos in it. It's adorable, authentic and simplistic. Love it. And the bonus is.. I got it for a dollar !! Woo ! The lady at the counter, or should i say floor, gave me a fifty percent discount. Yes, step  back now. But as my mum would like to point out, she gave me a dollar discount because she felt i wasn't capable of affording the extra dollar.

Apart from this trip, my dad made my a new bracelet holding out of left over wood and plastic pipes. I reckon it looks rather cool, especially after the layer of paint. It's greenish-white, a colour that fits so well when contrasted to the vintage brown wooden pole. Have to show you a picture later !

Alright catch you guys soon ! I have to get cleaned  and showered before the Voice airs tonight ! Can't wait !

I should be reading.

After today's erratic weather patterns, it's safe to say that we've hit winter. Hard. And with storms, colds and freezing weather on our way, I've developed this love for knitwear. It started quite a while ago but now when i mean knitwear, i actually mean incorporating the knit process. And yes, that frankly means not buying some knits from stores ( even though i could sneak a few in). It isn't going to be easy but, hey, what is fun without a challenge ?! Knitting a scarf with the prettiest yarn out ? Oh yes siry ! I know it seems like I've gone berserk with this whole knit thing. Must have shocked you the way it shocked me. Since today, knitting held the connotation of an old lady named Agnus, who sat on her rocking chair whilst singing christmas carols. Sadly that's how far my imagination extends. But in all honesty, when i told Mum of what i wanted to do and how i was eager to learn how to knit ( i have no idea on how to knit, great start Cindy ! Great start. ), she pretty much ignored me in disbelief. I can understand how she must have felt. I mean, if someone would ask me how to decribe myself, I would mainly tell them that i have the shortest attention/interest span. So with not much support, I'm sure it'll be quite a challenge but since I've been quite a good girl, I might have already scored myself a few lessons to get me started :-) And as for the prettist yarn out ? Well.. that's still on my list. The one above caught my eye because it has some weirdness to it. Honestly, the colours are a tad dull but I really don't know. Caught me speechless and I'm contemplating if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Cindy.

Joy overload.

I wouldn't for one minute, no, one second, hesitate to say that today is one of the best days ever ( for 2012, that is ). Just recently, the bus i caught from Sefton to Fairfield was bombarded with ChesterHill peeps. Just like the past few months, I've been standing on the bus from school on Thursdays and Fridays. And this isn't just for me, oh nono, im talking about all sefton students- with laptops, textbooks or whatever heavy projects we have to bring home. So it wasn't until we formed a petition and did all the things I learnt in geography, about being an active citizen. Even though I will classify as the most inactive citizen ever, i was bothered enough to print out forms and voila, the petition was formed. I have to admit that it did take me a week or two to send it off but hey, it paid off ! It started with this Year 8 girl named Jasmine screaming out that the bus was empty and this conversation with the bus driver. Donna: ' Ask if this is permanent, go! ' Me : ' Hi, is this permanent ?' Bus dude: ' Yeah, yeah, i'll tell you later' And as expected, he did. He got out of his bus seat once everyone was seated and made his little speech that was real sweet of him . If i may paraphrase, he said something along the lines of saying that we're like his family, that he's happy for us that we no longer have to stand up, that he agrees with the bus company's decision and everything like that. His speech ended with all smiles and happinesss. The fact that our petition worked.. its just so touching. WE NO LONGER HAVE TO CATCH THE BUS, STANDING. WE NO LONGER HAVE TO WATCH CHS YEAR 7 STUDENTS SWEAR AND THROW WATER BOTTLES. WE NO LONGER HAVE A FEAR OF BRINGING SOMETHING HEAVY HOME ON THURS AND FRI ARVOS. and we no longer will become hunchbacks in the future thanks to all this. So, How better can my day get ? I GOT MY ENGLISH EXAM BACK and i am in such relief. I'm super happy with my mark no matter what anyone says. Got all my exams back and they haven't gone into the 60 percent range so im all cool. Ah, joy overload !

Presents.

Birthdays' come and go, so why not celebrate it like there's no tomorrow ? It should be a day that's filled with excitement, surprises and love ! So I just thought i should share the presents that i've made. And yes, this year, I'm going all out on D.I.Y haha. But im soon running out of ideas so i might have to go back to dedicating time searching for perfect presents rather than spicing them up.
Being the D.I.Y activist addict enthusiast fanatic, I was super eager to get my hands on some of these t-shirt transfers. And I did, of course haha. I got them in a packet of 26 and they have been, ever since, quite efficient. The 'april' logo i designed sketched out, transfered to photoshop and printed it out. And to transfer them on, all you have to do is iron them on baking paper and taadaaa ! You're done.
And despite having tried to sew on denim pockets, i'm proud of it ! All i hope is that the logo stays on well enough for Donna haha. Its been a month and so far, there have been no complaints. yes ! And as for Sally, whose birthday was a few weeks later, I personalised something too but ofc, using the same process. If you guys havne't checked already, her fabulous blog is www.queenofawkwardness.blogspot.com. And if you quickly check her the informaiton in her profile column, it says she owns a Sony a390. Ding, ding ! Present coming right up hahaha
Taa daa ! Yep , a month's old worth of stuff ! Cindy.
